King wins last minute dash to Claim West Coast Challenge

The Simon’s Town West Coast Canoe Challenge happened in the Cape over the weekend in a race from Cloeteskraal Farm to Riviera Hotel with Lance King claiming a tight fought win over youngsters Luke Stowman and Joseph Williams.

King was able to out sprint the two Under 23 paddlers to claim the win in a time of 1:23.01 to take the title by a mere second over Stowman. Joritha Prins won the ladies section of the race by a commanding margin with the two Under 23 paddlers, Stowman and Williams, taking first and second in their age group respectively.
