Home Overview

SUP is short for Stand Up and Paddleboarding. The sport has seen a radical transformation over the years in terms of equipment and techniques and has become a fast developing sport in South Africa and all the world. Competitors partake in a range of Stand up and paddleboarding disciplines including SUP Surfing, SUP Racing, which includes technical, long distance and sprint racing. South Africa has a strong team competing across these disciplines locally and internationally.

SUP is practiced across South Africa on rivers, dams and ocean. SUPSA has representatives in the different provinces to ensure active enabling of the sport. The annual calendar of events provides a colorful array of events and competitions on rivers, dams and the ocean.

SUPSA is partnered with Canoeing South Africa and Surfing South Africa to ensure the national representation of the sport’s different disciplines on a national and international level.
