Nanjing Youth Olympic Games – Young Reporters Programme

09/09/2013gpmedia

The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) is delighted to announce the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Young Reporters Programme, a sports journalism training programme that will be run during the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

The Young Reporters’ initiative will bring 30 young reporters from five continents to the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing (China) from 16-28 August 2014. The selected Young Reporters will be housed in the Youth Olympic Village alongside the athletes, will have access to all the sports, and specialised media training from senior sports journalists.

SASCOC is in the process of nominating two young reporters, one male and one female, whose names will be submitted to the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) for consideration. The candidates can be university students engaged in journalism studies or young professionals already working full-time in the news media.
