New event – Safire and Clanfin Nite Race 12 December.

NCC will also be hosting a new event on Thursday, 12 December. The Safire and Clanfin NCC Night Race will embrace the holiday spirit and will be a fun event. It will have a Christmas theme and lucky draw prizes will be on offer for the best Father Christmas and helpers’ costumes. There will also be a few cash prizes for the Pros! This will be the last bash before Christmas, so we have booked Gerry van Rensburg to play a few tunes for us. So bring your mates and let’s have a good party!! Ho Ho Ho!!

Entry fee is only R20, and the format will be the usual three laps of Camps Drift, plus two short portages.

Ithala Challenge

All Systems go for the BELL Ithala Challenge 2013

After the unfortunate cancellation last year we are please to report that the rains have come in force this year and the Challenge is on once again. The 11th race date has been set for the 23rd November and I have just opened the entries on the site so go and book your spot now!

Umfolozi Canoe Club is proud to be hosting you all once more and we have really bumped things up for this one. From Bell’s support including helicopters to great prizes and giveaways for the paddlers and the rest of the usual sponsors who have all come to the party.

All our facilities have seen improvements including the camp at Ntshondwe in Ithala with its lush lawn and of course the ablution block complete with hot showers and the all-important flushing toilets.

Please note that we are unfortunately limited to 250 paddlers so enter asap to avoid disappointment! Click HERE to enter!

The excitement is mounting as we prepare for the much anticipated 50 Miler on KZN’s most popular stretch of river!

It’s the race for the paddler, allowing you to experience all the best rapids on the Dusi and Umgeni Rivers with marshalls and NSRI on hand to assist.

Guaranteed full release from Henley Dam and Inanda Dam currently at 99.46% expect plenty of water!

The lucky draws include! 2 Kayak centre boats, Gara paddle, Dusi entries……..
