Dragonboat racing is taking off in South Africa! A club has been established in the Western Cape, where youngster are thoroughly enjoying this team sport.

The Zeekoeimanzi club entered a team into the World Games in Duisburg in Germany in 2005. This multi-sport event is a showcase of all non-Olympic codes, and dragonboat racing is taking part as an invitation sport.

The Dragon Boat Committee of Canoeing South Africa will send a Mixed Senior team to take part in the 1^st Tudor Creek International Dragon Boat Regatta in Mombassa, Kenya between the 13^th December and 15^th December 2008 subject to selection / qualifying criteria.
