Entries opening soon for 2024 World Waveski Surfing Titles

Buffalo City, East London – The world’s waveski community is on high alert as entries officially open on 15 January for the much-anticipated 2024 World Waveski Surfing Titles, set to blaze Nahoon Reef in Buffalo City, East London!

With an international roster representing over 15 countries, this prestigious event promises an awe-inspiring display of waveski prowess against the iconic backdrop of Nahoon Reef. Partnering with industry giants such as Macski, Tidy Towns Buffalo City, Waveski Adventurers, Kazin Trading, East London Golf Club, and KayakSurf.Net, the stage is set for an exciting championship.

Francois Steyn, President of South African Waveski Surfing Association, shares, “Our shores eagerly await the global waveski family. We’re thrilled to showcase the vibrant spirit of our Rainbow Nation and guide contenders on their quest to become Reef Royalty.”

Entrants are urged to submit requisite documentation: Proof of ID, a National Association Selection Letter, and Membership Proof in the Canoe Federation or Similar Body. Adaptive participants must comply with 2024 Rulebook specifications or provide current classification records.

Fitness confirmation, swimming proficiency, eskimo rolling finesse, and competence in handling a 5ft Reef Break wave are prerequisites. Entry fees vary by division, encompassing Open or Closed divisions, combination entries, and the coveted Tag Team category.

Exclusive event merchandise, including hoodies, peak and trucker caps, towels, and customized brand rash vest sets for competitors, are available for pre-order. Additionally, a $25.00 World Waveski Surfing Association sub fee accompanies entry submissions. The entry window shuts on May 1st, 2024, capping at 96 competitors.

The agenda is packed with adrenaline-pumping events, commencing Friday, June 28th, 2024, with registration, a flag parade, the opening ceremony, and contest briefings. Action hits the water on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, building to a climactic finale and dinner at the esteemed East London Golf Club on Sunday, July 7th, 2024.
